Rise Is Hiring – Apply to join our team!

Rise is hiring two full-time positions! Please share this announcement in your networks:

Parent Leadership Program Coordinator: Rise is looking for a committed, detail-oriented Program Coordinator to lead our 4-month Rise & Shine Leadership Training to build the skills of parents to become leaders in child welfare reform. We are seeking applicants with life experience facing the child welfare system as a parent; professional experience working as a parent advocate at a legal or child welfare agency; and project management experience.

Beyond administration, this position requires a leader who is passionate about supporting our mission by developing a strong infrastructure to support our emerging parent leaders and build our work. In addition to the training program, the Coordinator will be the linchpin of Rise involvement for new parents and will support the entire team in building our parent leader capacities.

Editorial Director: Rise is seeking a program director for our publications team who will: edit Rise publications, build the writing skills of parent leaders, and contribute to the quality of written communication across the organization. Rise’s writing process is the foundation of our work to bring parents’ knowledge and experiences into the child welfare system. Through writing and publishing personal essays, parents have the opportunity to reflect on their experiences and share their stories to help others.

Journalism skills including content planning, interviewing, editing to length, and social media strategy are critical to success in this role. In addition, depth of knowledge of psychology and attention to the role of language and narrative in recovery from trauma must be acquired to do this job well.

Rise values a diverse workforce and inclusive culture. We strongly encourage applications from women and people of color as well as people with prior contact with the child welfare system.
