SUMMARY:Rise & Shine Open House Information Session
DESCRIPTION:Rise invites NYC parents impacted by ACS to join us for an open house information session to learn about the Rise & Shine Program and how to apply to the 2023 cohort. The open house is an opportunity to connect with the Rise & Shine staff and ask questions. \nThis is a drop-in info session where you can can come for an hour at any time during the event. You will be able to learn more about the program\, receive support in completing your application and be interviewed for Rise & Shine during the open house. Snacks and a metro card will be provided. \nThis session will take place in person at the Rise office in Manhattan. \n>> Sign up via Eventbrite to attend. \nNote: There is an elevator in the building. Please email Teresa at teresa@risemagazine.org about any other accessibility needs. Child care is not available for in-person open houses. \nRise follows the Fund for the City of NY policy requiring anyone who works in an NYC office or workplace to be vaccinated against COVID-19. This policy applies to anyone who comes into the Rise office\, including staff and contributors\, board members\, contractors\, volunteers\, guests\, facilitators and participants in Rise programs\, including Rise & Shine. The Fund for the City of NY will work directly with any employee seeking medical or religious exemption. Face masks are required in the office.

DESCRIPTION:The Rise peer support circle is a space to connect with other parents with similar experiences and share resources and information. Through restorative justice circles processes\, we discuss our experiences and challenges as parents and support one another. We also share information about upcoming Rise trainings and events and how to sign up. \nRise’s parent-led community support circle is now open to parents impacted by family policing systems in any location across the country. \nThe discussion topic for Dec. 8 will be positive coping skills for dealing with everyday stressors. \nComplete the sign-up form and we will send you the link to join the support circle by Zoom!
